Migration Agents

A migration agent is someone who can assist you to lodge a visa application and communicate with Australia’s Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) on your behalf, usually for a fee.

You do not need to use a migration agent to lodge a visa application.

However, if you do not feel confident in lodging an application, or if your case is complex, you may wish to use an agent.

In Australia, migration agents must be registered with the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA). A list of agents registered in Australia is available at the MARA website.         See: www.themara.com.au.

More information about using a migration agent is available at the DIAC website.
