Long Stay Business Visa

Who is this visa for?
A Long Stay Business visa allows employers in Australia or overseas to sponsor skilled employees to work in Australia for between 3 months and 4 years.
Applications for Long Stay Business visas can be made at the Australian Embassy Vienna only if you have an overseas employer to sponsor you.

How to apply (with overseas employer)
Step1: Employer applies for business sponsorship
The employer will need to demonstrate that he/she has:
- a lawful, active business;
- he/she will be the direct employer of the visa applicant;
- a good business & immigration record;
- and that employment of the visa applicant to Australia will be of benefit to Australia.
Step 2: Employer nominates the position to be filled
The employer must show that the position meets minimum skill and salary requirements.

Step 3: Employee applies for a visa
Required documents for step 3:
- Application form 1066.

- a recent passport photograph of all applicants
- a signed valid international passport. Please ensure that there is at least one blank page available for a visa label.
- evidence of English proficiency (see application form 1066 for details) or specified exemption.
- if you have included a child under 18 years of age in your application and any person with custody of the child (such as the other parent) is not travelling with the child, please see Additional requirements for persons under 18 years. See: Applying for visas
- if you are over 16 years of age and your proposed stay in Australia exceeds 12 months, you are required to provide a police clearance certificate for each country where you have lived for 12 months or more (in total) in the past 10 years (must be original certificate). Health requirements

It is important to note that processing times can vary according to individual circumstances. Applicants are therefore advised to lodge applications well in advance of planned travel to Australia.
