Education in Australia

The Federal Government provides supplementary funds in the form of general recurrent and capital grants, and plays a central role in achieving cooperation in the national education system, largely through the Ministerial Council for Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs .

Endeavour Awards 2007
The 2007 Endeavour Europe Awards awards are open to applicants from European Union member states and citizens or permanent residents of Norway, Switzerland and Croatia to undertake postgraduate studies or research in Australia. The opening date for receipt of applications has not been set yet. Application forms will be made available from this website when the competition opens. The closing date for applications is 18 August 2006.
2007 Endeavour Research Fellowships provide financial support for postgraduate students and postdoctoral fellows to applicants that are citizens of, and physically resident in, any EU Member State and other particpating countries (for full details, please refer to “Eligibility Requirements” on the Endeavour Research Fellowships webpage to undertake short-term research in any field of study in Australia. The opening date is 1st April, the closing date is 31st July 2006.
Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) are open to international students of all countries (except New Zealand) to undertake a postgraduate research qualification in Australia and gain experience with leading Australian researchers. Applicants for a scholarship should apply directly to the participating institution and the closing date for lodging the applications will vary depending on the institution.
The Menzies Centre for Australian Studies in London
The Menzies Centre in London teaches an MA in Australian Studies and BA courses in Australian history, literature and film. It also promotes academic exchange.
