News: change of telephone contact hours from Monday 27 October

From Monday 27 October 2008 the telephone contact hours for the Visa Office are Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 12 noon for all enquiries and appointment bookings.

1. Client appointments

Clients who would like to lodge a visa or citizenship application or make an enquiry in person at the Australian Embassy in Vienna are required to have an appointment.

To make an appointment, please telephone (+43 1) 506740, Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 12.00 noon.
Our street address is set out at 4. below.

Please note: all visa/citizenship applications may be lodged by mail/courier;  there is no need to make an appointment to come in person to the Embassy (our postal address is at 4. below).  If you choose to lodge an application in person at the Embassy we may not be able to make a decision regarding your application on the same day.

2. Email or fax:

For general and progress enquiries, we prefer that you contact us by email or fax. We aim to respond within 5 working days.

If you have already lodged an application with our office, please make sure that you provide your name, date of birth and file reference details in your email/fax.

Given the high volume of telephone calls to the Embassy on a daily basis, you are kindly asked to contact us by email or fax if you require information you have not been able to find on our website, or you wish to provide further information for the processing of an application already lodged at the Embassy.    How to Find Us

We are located on the third floor of the white building on the left hand side of Karlskirche at Karlsplatz (in the street behind the church).

The nearest underground (metro/U-Bahn) stops are on lines U1, U4 and U2 to "Karlsplatz" station; take the "Resselpark" or “Karlsplatz” exits.

The nearest tram line is the D line to the "Schwarzenbergplatz" stop.

There is very limited street parking if you come by car and you will need to display a correctly marked "Parkschein" . There is a public car park underneath the building which charges an hourly rate.
